THE MAGIC TICKET FILM
by The Magic Ticket Film

A short film about a homeless female veteran struggling to get a hot meal on Christmas Eve.
Our film provides a hard look at the realities of the life of a homeless person who suffers from severe PTSD and military sexual trauma (MST).
40% of women homeless veterans faced MST.
Veterans with MST history are over twice as likely to experience homelessness.
The team behind "The Magic Ticket" is a diverse group of filmmakers from different cultural backgrounds who are passionate to tell stories that inspire social change. We are driven to give voice to the ones who seem INVISIBLE since as a society we have a long way to go to break the SILENCE about their existence.
“The Magic Ticket” highlights the injustice and lack of support many homeless women face daily. The film centers around a female veteran who becomes homeless upon returning from service to her country. While serving abroad she had experienced
MST and as a result of unhealed and untreated trauma and lack of affordable medical treatments, she, unfortunately, succumbs to being an unhoused Woman living on the streets.

The film went into production in August 2022 and is currently in post-production stage. We are looking for funds to cover editing, sound mixing, music composing, final mix, publicity, and festival run.
Aside from the finishing funds, we are looking to give back to non-profit community-focused organizations that are on the front line of alleviating the homelessness crisis and rebuilding the lives of Women with direct action.
We have a robust community engagement initiative in our film’s impact campaign. We would love to use the film’s positive message and bring more awareness to what they do as well as educate and destigmatize homelessness and MST.
